The Glasshouse Spring Tea Party
A couple of months ago my husband and I took our children to the Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park for a weekend mini-break. We had the best time, visiting the zoo and winery and the kids also loved exploring the beautiful gardens.
On one afternoon stroll we stumbled across the glasshouse at Werribee Park and I immediately knew I wanted to return to host a springtime party. It was the most magical space, with divine chequered monochrome tiles and two tiered white flower pot stands, which I knew would make spectacular dessert tables.
So I invited some of my favourite Melbourne party gals (and children) to join my kids and I for a very special tea party - Andrea Tofari from A.T. Bakes, Romina Crea from In A World of Cake and Elleni Pearce from Lenzo.
We hosted the party on a warm and sunny Melbourne day and our kids loved playing hide and seek in the surrounding gardens and also enjoyed a picnic in the shade next to the glasshouse.
In the glasshouse, the prettiest pastel cakes, cupcakes, tarts, meringues, fresh berries, chocolates and cookies were set up amongst the blooms and looked absolutely beautiful next to the Sambellina floral partyware range, pastel tea pots and tea cups, marble and wood cake stands and crystal champagne flutes.
The Party Food Menu
Savoury
For the little ones, I kept it super simple and they enjoyed some heart-shaped sandwiches with assorted fillings.
The big kids enjoyed mini tarts and venison pies from the Mansion Hotel & Spa.
Sweet
I made butterfly + cloud-shaped watermelon pops for the kids and some quick-and-easy no-bake berry chocolate tarts.
The Mansion Hotel & Spa served fresh berry, pistachio and lemon macarons, red velvet cakes and scones with jam and cream.
Romina from In A World of Cake served maple syrup and coconut-flavoured meringue kisses, the sweetest marbled sugar cookies and some of her signature art-inspired Couverture chocolates with a Nutella centre. She set up the chocolates and meringue kisses on the most divine crystal cake stands and they looked sensational.
Andrea from A.T Bakes served up two mouth-watering vanilla and strawberry watercolour cakes, adorned with macarons and 24k gold leaf. Andrea also served mini cupcakes in three flavours; 'Very Vanilla', red velvet and chocolate salted caramel, plus vanilla heart sugar cookies with gold leaf. Andrea used her marble and wood cake stands to display her desserts and they looked spectacular next to her pastel tea cups and white and gold tea pot.
Beverages
We enjoyed tea, Apple, grapefruit + raspberry mocktails, San Pellegrino mineral water and fresh juices.
We left the glasshouse with cones of delicious salted caramel popcorn from A.T Bakes and the most beautiful chocolates from In A World of Cake.
It was a truly magical day and we are so grateful to Parks Victoria and Mansion Hotel & Spa for their assistance.
With 10 acres of manicured gardens, Werribee Park really is the most perfect picnic, party or playdate spot. The formal gardens are picture-perfect and our kids all loved having some free-range fun in the safe and idyllic surrounds of the park. Click here for more information abour Werribee Park.
