We had the pleasure of helping Sarah and her husband Mark to organise their son Roman’s 1st birthday party last weekend.
As soon as Sarah mentioned that Roman’s favourite things were bubbles and balloons, we knew it was going to be a gorgeous party.
Sarah had such beautiful ideas for Roman’s party – her vision was a picnic with lots of balloons and a dessert table with ice-cream pops from Burnt Butter Cakes and a beautiful blue cake.
The gorgeous desserts were all from Burnt Butter Cakes, as was all the Little Kite partyware, Poppies For Grace balloons and number 1 cake topper and the popcorn party favours. (Side note: The new Burnt Butter Cakes HQ in Richmond really is a one-stop shop for all things parties and we could not recommend them highly enough!)
As soon as we saw the ‘Oscar’ tassels (from Tassels) we knew this was the perfect colour scheme for the party. The navy, silver, aqua and white tassel worked beautifully with the jumbo confetti balloons and so we carried these colours through to the picnic rugs and balloon arrangements.
Lawn games were set up alongside the dessert table, as well as a bubble bar with wands of bubbles.
Sarah wanted to set up a Time Capsule where her friends and family could write down their predictions of what Roman will be when he grows up, with Roman opening it in 2033 when he turns 18.
The birthday cake was three layers of delicious white chocolate mud layered with ganache and iced with a beautiful smooth blue buttercream and chocolate drip.
Matching chocolate drip cupcakes sat alongside the birthday cake and the birthday boy happily devoured one of these!
It was a gorgeous day celebrating a beautiful little boy. Happy birthday Roman! xx
