Celebrating the launch of Finding Dory & Friends: The Experience at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
September 16, 2016
Yesterday we were lucky enough to spend the day at one of our fav places, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, to help launch the new exhibit, Finding Dory & Friends: The Experience, a world-first Finding Dory themed aquarium exhibit created with Disney Pixar which opens tomorrow!!
To celebrate the launch, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium invited me to host an 'Under the Sea' themed morning tea to accompany the preview of the exhibit.
To complement the new exhibit, I wanted to create a beautiful watercolour morning tea table, complete with gorgeous shades of blues and greens and lots and lots of delicious sweet treats.
Astrid from Paper Playground in Sydney created the backdrop and paperie, which included ‘Reef Chocolate’ bars, signs for 'Hank’s Popcorn Bar’ and ‘Underwater Refreshments', along with some adorable custom shell and fish tags.
On arrival we served an assortment of delicious pastries, fruit platters, mini granola + yoghurt cups, sandwiches and mini baguettes made by the catering team at the Aquarium.
The little ones then had a ball exploring the new exhibit, climbing through Bailey’s Maze, racing through ‘Nemo’s Anemone Challenge’, pumping their arms at the ‘Ridin’ The EAC' station and admiring ‘Dory’s Reef’.
The final stops were to ‘Hank’s Popcorn Bar’ and the sweets table which featured a macaron tower by Burnt Butter Cakes, buttercream 'ocean' cupcakes + the prettiest seashell cookies by A.T Bakes and mint ‘pearls’. The table was draped with adorable jellyfish balloons by Belle Balloons and I used cookie ‘sand’ and mini seashells to complete the theme.
