Ava's 5th birthday party at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium

Our little girl turned 5 in early January. As we were going to be away on Ava's actual birthday we decided to host her ''pink whale' themed party in the lead up to Christmas at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium. Ava has adored the aquarium and all things under-the-sea since she was a little girl, so this was a perfect venue for her 5th birthday.

Ava's gorgeous watercolour birthday cake was made by Burnt Butter Cakes in Richmond and I could not recommend them highly enough. It tasted as beautiful as it looked.

The cake table was full of chocolate - the birthday girl's special request! I made number 5 choc pops, whale pops and choc coated Oreos. All of the moulds were from Confectionately Yours. The backdrop was made by Astrid at Paper Playground. Photos by Aim Aris .

Ava and her friends loved the party room at the Aquarium. They enjoyed lunch and craft activites overlooking the Yarra before going on a fun tour of the Aquarium.

The invitations, dessert cards and party bags were from Celebrate with Avery. The stunning Avery watercolour template set the theme for the whole party! I used the Avery unicorn template, but replaced the unicorn image with a pink whale. The design and printing could not have been easier.

One of the highlight's of the party was when Scuba Santa appeared in the fish bowl to deliver Christmas gifts to the fish. What a treat!

Thank you to Sophie at The Dessert Studio who made the adorable pink whale cookies for the party bags. I packaged these up in some Avery treat bags with Smarties and the birthday girl loved handing out these sweet treats to her friends at the end of the party.
