A beautiful Bebe Shower at The Tea Salon Melbourne

My baby sister Sophie is having a bebe! Sophie & her husband Symon’s first bubba is due in early September and our fam is bursting with excitement to meet this little cutie pie!

To celebrate the impending arrival, I hosted Sophie a Bebe Shower on Friday night at The Tea Salon at Emporium Melbourne.

As soon as Sophie and I started talking about potential baby shower venues, we knew The Tea Salon was the perfect choice. The Tea Salon caters for groups beautifully, the food, tea, wine and service are delightful and it is just the prettiest setting for a girly tea party.

With so many of her friends working in the city, Sophie opted to hold a Twilight Tea Party starting at 6pm so that guests could come straight from the office.

The invitation was custom-designed by Mamma Casetta in Italy and set the scene for the tea party beautifully.

Each table had a teapot floral centrepiece with blooms by Lucy Loves Charlie in Hawthorn along with custom floral picks made by Mamma Casetta to match the invitation. Down the table we scattered pale blue and pink heart chocolates from Sweet Chocolate Warehouse as well as some exquisite floral chocolate domes from Chocobon. At each place was a gorgeous watercolour cookie place card made by the talented ladies at Burnt Butter in Richmond.

For the party, Sophie had requested that the Champagne was flowing for her guests and wanted the focus to be on the beautiful food and catching up with her nearest and dearest. As such we decided not to have any games or entertainment.

As guests arrived we served flutes of The Tea Salon’s signature French bubbles, De Perriere Sparkling French Rosé, and set up a cute Bebe bubble bar complete with some floral chocolate domes from Chocobon.

The bubbles were delightful and so many of Sophie’s guests commented on the wine. De Perriere Sparkling French Rosé is available at The Tea Salon in both Melbourne and Sydney.

The balloons were all from AMSCAN Australia and conveniently I was able to get those filled with helium at Burnt Butter on the day of the tea party when I went in-store to pick up the cookie place cards.

We served The Tea Salon’s Classic High Tea Menu, which was outstanding and so beautifully presented on tiered stands. The delicious winter sandwich selection included Smoked Salmon with Rocket, Lemon & Capers, Chicken & Wild Herbs, Roast Beef with Horseradish Cream & Cress, Cucumber & Dill Butter, and Basil Pesto, Spinach & Crème Fraiche.

The delectable sweet treats included Petit Mango Cheesecake, Dark African Cacao Truffle Torte, Lychee Crumble and Bakewell Tart. And, of course, a selection of Scones which were truly one of the highlights of the tea party! Sophie’s guests were lucky to sample a selection of The Tea Salon’s extensive Scone Menu, including their Original, Date & Orange, White Chocolate & Cranberry, Milk Chocolate Chip, Rose, Cheddar & Thyme and Salted Caramel & White Chocolate. YUM!

Guests took home treat bags from Sweet Chocolate Warehouse, which we filled with a rose lollipop from The Tea Salon, the cookie place cards from Burnt Butter and the chocolate hearts from Sweet Chocolate Warehouse.

It was an absolutely magical evening at The Tea Salon celebrating the most beautiful mumma-to-be and I highly recommend The Tea Salon in Melbourne and Sydney for Baby showers, bridal showers and other special celebrations.

The next morning I organised a spa day for Sophie at Norbu Urban Retreat, a day spa at The Olsen in South Yarra, as I knew she would be tired following the Bebe Shower. It was the perfect way for Sophie to unwind and relax following the previous evenings festivities and a fitting way to end the weekend of celebrations. Soph LOVED her pregnancy massage and other treatments.

Thank you SO very much to all of our wonderful partners who made Sophie’s Bebe Shower possible including Jill and her amazing team at The Tea Salon, Burnt Butter Cakes, Amscan Australia, Mamma Casetta, Chocobon, Sweet Chocolate Warehouse, Lucy Loves Charlie and Norbu Urban Retreat. Thank you also to the wonderful photographer Emma Tkalcevic who captured these beautiful photos from the evening, a night that Sophie is never going to forget!
