Where to eat in Noosa (2019 update)

Our fam has just returned home from a mini break in beautiful Noosa. It has been nearly 25 years since my family first started holidaying in Noosa and it is without doubt now our second home.

Noosa for us means active mornings swimming in the ocean, coffees and hot chocolates on the beach from the Sails Coffee Cart, walks to the national park. a hit of tennis, an afternoon swim followed by long relaxing lunches or early dinners catching up with the whole family at one of Noosa's AMAZING restaurants.

I realized it has been two years since I have shared a Noosa food special so thought I would share some updates, just to help with anyone planning a Noosa family holiday! (You can view the last feature here.)

SAILS NOOSA

75 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

Sails is located at the National Park end of Hastings Street, boasting incredible uninterrupted views over Laguna Bay.

It is an upmarket lunch or dinner venue, but is also super family friendly too. The little ones get to choose an activity pack as soon as you arrive at the restaurant and there is a fabulous kids menu too. Ava & Alex were both kept entertained with their activity packs and as soon as they had finished their meals (fish & chips) they happily raced onto the sand for a play.

Sails boasts picture-perfect views over Noosa beach.

The Jaffa Chocolate Negroni was the most perfect finish to the meal!

The local Seafood is always a highlight at Sails.

Pictured above is the Moreton Bay Bug which was DELICIOUS! The bug is roasted and served with shellfish butter and a bowl of potatoes, broccoli and almonds.

The chocolate pudding is Ava & Alex's fav dessert EVER! Ava has seriously asked me once a week for the past 12 months 'when are we going back to Sails?!' And it is all because of THIS pudding above! Served with homemade honeycomb and a divine vanilla bean icecrea.

My nephew Liam was right at home at Sails and loved watching the world go by on the Boardwalk. (This was such a special trip for our family this year as it was the first time we were in Noosa with my sister Anna's adorable baby Liam.)

Sails Noosa has the most incredible setting, spectacular food and service and really is a must-visit when holidaying in Noosa!

NOOSA BOATHOUSE

194 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville

Noosa Boathouse is a gorgeous restaurant and function venue on the river in Noosaville, right next to Pelican Jetty.

We had a fabulous lunch at the Boathouse and one of the highlights for the kids was the arrival - guests dining at the Boathouse for lunch or dinner are offered complimentary one-way ferry rides on Noosa Ferry and it could not have been be a more fabulous way to arrive to lunch!

There are fabulous views over Noosa River, a wonderful kids menu and as you would imagine, the most delicious seafood!

Pictured above is my sister and I on our way to the Boathouse!

Pictured above is the local fish & mooloolaba prawn curry at Noosa Boathouse. It was sensational!

The kids loved their calamari and were also thrilled with the watermelon that came with their meals.

Following lunch we went for a long walk along the river, admiring the pretty boats and the resident pelicans along the way.

Noosa Boathouse is the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or dinner with friends and family and make sure you request a table right on the river, it is just magical!

CAFE LE MONDE

52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

Cafe Le Monde is a restaurant & bar located right in the heart of Hastings Street. This popular venue serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a daily happy hour and weekly specials. The Oyster Bar runs on Thursday nights from 5pm-6pm and I have never seen Cafe Le Monde busier! It's no wonder why though, they offer $1 oysters direct from the grower ($2 per oyster for Oysters Kilpatrick.) We LOVE!

BISTRO C

49 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

Bistro C is located right on the boardwalk at Noosa beach and has a fun, relaxed vibe. Our favourite time to go is in the afternoon and the Arvo menu is offered daily from 3pm - 5pm with fantastic cocktails (hello $10 Aperol Spritz) and food and drink specials. Bistro C's calamari is the absolute must-order dish - it is still served with a chilli, lime and coriander dipping sauce and I don't think the recipe has changed in 25 years!

Make sure you pack paper and pencils for the kids though as they now charge $5 for kids activity packs!

NOOSA HEADS SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

69 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

The Surf Club is one of our fam's favourite places for an after lunch or pre-dinner drink - there are the most incredible views of Noosa beach from the deck. They also serve meals and it is a great spot for a quick meal with the kids before heading for a swim.

GELATISSIMO NOOSA

Shop A 1a, Bay Village on Hastings, Hastings St, Noosa Heads

Gelatissimo is our kids fav gelato shop in Noosa. For the little ones there are sprinkle coated cones and loads of toppings to choose from. And for those big kids wanting a guilt-free treat there is also a 95% sugar free range which includes Peppermint Crunch, Chocolate and Caramel; Latte. YUM! Grab and ice cream and then stroll across the road to the beach to enjoy!

Our morning ritual in Noosa is a big swim in the ocean followed by a hot chocolate or coffee from the Sails Coffee Cart!

Noosa, you are magic! We can't wait to return again next year and a huge shout out to my incredible parents for hosting us for another amazing Noosa holiday! We have memories to last a lifetime! xx
