Sydney Family Fun (Part 1) - Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach Hotel

Nine weeks ago my Sydney-based sis, Anna, had her first baby, a gorgeous little boy called Liam. When he was born my parents and younger sister and I went up for a visit and we stayed at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach because it was super close to the hospital. As soon as we arrived at the hotel and I spotted the ‘Junior Check In’ desk (complete with lollipop jar) and then saw the amazing views of Coogee beach from the hotel, I knew I wanted to return with the kids. So as soon as the school holidays began we were on a plane to Sydney and checking into Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach. This hotel is super family friendly and designed for relaxation in mind. Here are all the details.

The Rooms We stayed in an oceanview room on level 6 with 2 double beds side by side. The hotel is a hop, skip and jump away from Coogee Beach and so the comfortable oceanfront + oceanview rooms have the most incredible ocean views over Coogee beach and the headlands. At night the kids loved listening to the crash of the waves as they drifted off to sleep.

The warmest welcome - chocolate truffles and a gorgeous bottle of wine! Thank you Crowne Plaza!

Alex loved playing with his cars on the balcony! What a backdrop!

The Breakfast Buffet breakfast is offered on level 1 of the hotel at Bluesalt which offers stunning ocean views. The ‘Have It Your Way’ egg bar, DIY juice bar and pancake bar were the most popular stations when we visited. Gorgeous fresh pastries, cereals and fruits and all the classic hot items make this a popular breakfast spot for hotel guests and locals alike.

The pool + facilities The outdoor pool is heated perfectly, meaning even on a cool Spring day the kids will have a ball splashing in the pool. The pool deck overlooks the ocean too, perfect for those looking to relax poolside. We didn’t visit the gym or tennis court during our visit, but there was a professional sporting team staying at the hotel during our visit and they looked to be enjoying the hotel’s facilities.

Where To Eat With views this spectacular from the room, we opted for Room Service on our first night and the food was fabulous.

Oceans is on the ground floor of the hotel and offers fab cocktails, pizzas and bar food in a relaxed beach chic setting.

The Coogee Pavilion is only a short stroll away too and we enjoyed a fantastic lunch there on our second day. The kids LOVED the play area at the back.

For dessert you can’t beat the Gelatissimo Cafe which is only a couple of hundred meters away from the hotel. There is a gorgeous range of cakes (including a gluten free choc orange cake, so good!) ice cream cakes and of course their famous gelato (complete with their famous sprinkle waffle cones! Hello!)) We had a gorgeous afternoon tea at Gelatissimo Cafe after a play on the beach and the kids absolutely loved it. https://gelatissimo.com.au

Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach also offers Lindt High Tea by the sea which we enjoyed last visit.

Why the kids loved it What is not to love? A perfect seaside location, a kid-friendly pool, fantastic kids menus and special treats for the kids - the little ones were given a unicorn backpack (Ava) and dinosaur backpack (Alex) when we checked in and loved decorating these and then taking them with us on our adventures to the beach during our stay. We can’t wait for our next school holiday visit!
